Photoshop effect that I learn.

Hello everyone. I know it's been a while since my last blog post but I'm back, so here a few Photoshop effect I've learned.

1.) Watersplash and 3D Text.

As you can see to the right of the screen. Now I will teach you how to make one and the other Photoshop effect.

Watersplatter Effects

Steps:

  1. Pick a pictures. Start by looking for a picture that have the image look at front at you, so you can easily add the brush effect.
  2. Buy a water effect brush bundle. Sorry but, I don't actually know how to get the brush effect, you have to download it in some website, I got mine in a Photoshop tutorial in a book I borrow.
  3. Pick and adjust the brush. There many type of brush and each have its own effect, for example; if you want a brush with a splatter effect used sample brush 520, if the brush too big or the shape and the angle is not the way you wanted it, you have to adjust its to your liking. Its the small adjustment that make the effect look real.
  4. Start painting. It's up to you how the effect should look like.
And that is how to make a watersplah effect, now I will tell you how to make the 3D effect on the left side of the picture.

3D Text Effects

Steps:

  1. Pick a pictures from your computer files or download one from the internet.
  2. Add a horizontal or vertical type tool anywhere on the pictures. I've placed the text near the corner of the picture.
  3. After you write the text you wanted, choose the size of the fonts and style of the fonts.

2.) Disaster city, or Lightning and cloud effect (forgot the cloud effect)

This example right here show you how great lightning brushes effect is, if you want to make a dissaster movie poster, or what your city would look like if the apocalypse could've happen.

Steps:

  1.  Pick a pictures. I recommend an aerial view of a city to make its easy too add the lightning effects.
  2. Just like the watersplash brush effect, you have to buy a lightning brush bundle from some web site, and adjust the diameter and angle of the lightning brush. Don't forget the brush color.
  3. Add a cloud effects in the sky too make the pictures look more unearthly, and add small smoke near the building or window to make the city look on fire.
And here another picture effects, now for the last Photoshop effects.

3.) Text on the face.

Now this is Photoshop effects right here make any pictures or portrait (mostly portrait) to look more sober and have meaning, considering this effect let you type text over the entire portrait, so yeah.

Steps:

  1. Start by using a rectangular Marquee Tool to make the portrait small, so that you don't have to type too much and spend on times thinking what you should write. Also make sure you save a copy of the picture your gonna be using to avoid mistake using Save As.
  2.  After you crop the shape your portrait should look like, go up to the Image menu in the Menu Bar at top at the screen and select the Crop command.
  3. Add a new blank layer and fill the blank layer with the Fill command in the Edit menu.
  4. Use the Type Tool to make the text on the pictures. Start by dragging the Type Tool from the upper right corner of the portrait to the bottom left of the portrait.
  5. Type the text you wanted to make. Its could be about a story, or a meaning in the pictures, song lyrics that goes well with the picture, or text you find on the internet and decided to use that. Also, don't forget you can change the size of the font and type of font that you think suit you.
  6. Add a layer mask on the Text layer.
  7. Click on the Background Layer, and then press Ctrl+A to select the entire layer, after that, press Ctrl+C to copy the image of the layer to the temporarily to the computer's memory.
  8. Paste the image by holding the alt key and click on the layer mask thumbnail on the layer panel, then paste the image by pressing the Ctrl-V to directly on the layer mask.
And there you have it, a text portrait you can use to make a music poster, or a story poster.
I hope this tutorial give you some great ideas for your Photoshop effect, until next time, bye.
